About Project

Our Building Plans

The Airdrie Food Bank works hard to meet the drastically increased demand for food services and programs. For years we have been in urgent need of additional space to continue to meet the growing needs of those struggling in our community. With the support of our community now have a new purpose-built facility!

We are now in the process of expanding our services to include more skill building programs by providing a Community Kitchen, which we plan to share with the community.

Features of the new Airdrie Food Bank

Expansion

We have built on the same land where we have been located. The old office and reception building has been sold and moved off site. The existing warehouse is now being used for cold storage (potatoes, etc.)

Building Community

Our new warehouse has allowed us to become a hub and distribution centre for smaller rural food banks, providing them with additional food. Our plan is to share the Board/Meeting Room and Community Kitchen with other agencies and with our business community, providing space for them as well as bringing additional revenue and sustainability to our organization.

Fundraising

The Airdrie Food Bank has raise the necessary funds to pay for their new building through grants, partnering with the business sector through our Capital Campaign and the entire community of Airdrie and area. The Airdrie Food Bank belongs to the community, and together we can meet the needs of those in crisis in our midst.

While our building has been built, there are still many expenses associated with operating in our new building. Purchasing a $100 brick will support us in our new building and your name or message be included in a Recognition Feature in our reception area. Bricks available!
