Airdrie Food Bank obtains clients' personal information
in order to qualify their family for our services. Such
personal information may include name, address, telephone
number, age, family situation, medical information,
proof of income and accommodation costs. Airdrie Food
Bank will not use this information other than in its
assessment and provision of services to a client family.
Airdrie Food Bank will not disclose this information
to any third parties other than affiliated agencies
or service partners that would reasonably expect it,
except as required by law.
Donors
Donor personal information such as name, address, telephone
number, or e-mail address is used strictly to provide:
(a) charitable donation receipts, (b) a thank you for
your donation and (3) our newsletter if you wish to
receive it. If at any time you do not wish to receive
our newsletter, simply contact us and we will remove
your name. Airdrie Food Bank will not disclose this
information to any third parties, except as required
by law.
Security
We make every reasonable effort to protect against
the loss, misuse, and alteration of personal information
under our control. Our security policies are periodically
reviewed and enhanced as necessary.
Only authorized volunteers have access to client and
donor information, based only on their need to deal
with the information for the reason(s) for which it
was obtained. Safeguards are in place to ensure that
the information is not disclosed or shared more widely
than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it
was gathered. We keep your information for the time
we are providing you with a product or service, and
for a
reasonable time thereafter.
Volunteers and Staff
All who volunteer at the Airdrie Food Bank are asked
to sign a document agreeing to keep all client information
confidential and to adhere to the Canadian
Food Bank code of Ethics.
Staff and board members are also required to follow
the above-referenced Code.
