Requesting a Hamper

To request a hamper from the Airdrie Food Bank, phone us at 948-0063.

We will do an application over the phone and ask questions, such as how many are in your family, and why you need help now, as well as some financial information to determine need.  This information is collected to determine eligibility, as well as to best meet the needs of our clients.  During the telephone application, you will be assigned an appointment time to pick up the hamper on either Tuesday or Friday mornings.  When you pick up your hamper, you will need to show ID for each person listed on your application. 

Food Bank clients may apply for a maximum of 6 hampers in a 12 month period, and only once in thirty days.   Our hampers provide nutritious food choices that are estimated to last a week to 10 days.  Hampers are put together by teams of volunteers and can be 'custom made' for certain dietary needs.  Bread is available on an ongoing basis to any client as needed, without doing an additional application.

 We also operate a referral system, and network with other agencies to give individuals and families the support they require in times of crisis.  This is done by providing information to clients about other resources available to them within the community.  Phone numbers are given and contacts made if required.
