Call for Volunteers!
Bread & Pizza Volunteers
Mmmmm ! Love the smell of bread and pizza? Want to help out your local Food Bank? We are looking for fabulous volunteer(s) who could stop by Little Caesars every Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. and pick up the available pizzas. Then it’s off to Safeway to pick up their amazing bread and pastry selection.
If interested please call Carolyn G. at (403) 948-0063. You will require a valid driver’s license and a vehicle. Position to be filled immediately.
Hamper Volunteers
HUNGRY? No, well there are some who are. Are you friendly and outgoing and have the ability to brighten someone’s day? If you are then you’re the one we want. Come join our team and be a part of making the growlees go away. You will be lucky enough to fill and hand out hampers and enjoy the company of other volunteer team members like you!
We are looking for volunteers to fill hampers and possibly deal with clients Tuesdays and Friday mornings. If this is a volunteer opportunity that interests you please call Carolyn G. at (403) 948-0063 Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
We Could Use Your Help
The Airdrie Food Bank is only able to provide services and programs to the community because of the involvement of a dedicated volunteer team. These loyal supporters engage in tasks covering all levels of operation such as:
- Grocery: fill hampers, sort groceries, clean/straighten, load/unload
- Board: chair, secretarial, financial, public relations, committee work, recruitment
- Clerical: phoning, mailing, filing, computerized tasks, record stats
- Special Events: organizer, information table, registration
- Driver: weekly pickups, monthly pickups, occasional pickups
- Team Leader: attend training workshop, work with clients, phone/inform team
- Other: recycling, maintenance, carpentry, seasonal yard work, janitorial, cleaning bee
- Breakfast Program: help with before-school breakfast program at an elementary school
