Our Events

The Airdrie Food Bank hosts two signature events a year - the Shamrock Shimmy in March and Empty Bowls Arts Festival in September. In addition, kind hearted individuals, families, businesses and organizations run various food drives and fundraisers supporting us. If you are planning an event, please visit our third party events page for valuable information.

2020 Shamrock Shimmy Cancelled

In light of growing concerns around COVID-19 and recommendations for social distancing coming from local, regional and national authorities we are regretfully cancelling this year’s Shamrock Shimmy.

We were really looking forward to a great evening with you and value your support of the food bank and those we serve.  Although the decision to cancel the event leaves us with heavy hearts we are confident that this is the best route to align ourselves with proactive public health practices and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the wellness of our staff, volunteers, clients and community in all capacities.

Our West Jet raffle will still be drawn on Saturday and announced through the Airdrie Food Bank Facebook page once the winner is contacted.

Next week we will begin the process of refunding tickets and connecting with event sponsors.  Please stay tuned for details of how to still get your hands on some of the incredible auction items we had lined up!
