Volunteer Opportunties:

Special Events
Assist Events Assistant or designate with fundraising events and tasks associated with special events (e.g. selling tickets, dropping off and picking up materials, collecting of silent auction items from businesses).  May be required to attend meetings.  Volunteers must be comfortable engaging with community members.  Available evenings and weekends

Transport Drivers for 5 tonne Truck
Pick up food donations from various locations in Airdrie and surrounding area (Safeway, No Frills, Costco, etc.); pick up food donations from special food drives at schools, businesses or organizations and deliver to the Airdrie Food Bank. Drivers picking up larger loads, using the Airdrie Food Bank vehicle(s) will need to pass our safety inspection and be approved by Warehouse Coordinator.  Volunteers must be added to the Airdrie Food Banks insurance plan. Available during office  hours

Breakfast Program
Do you enjoy spending time with children and want to make a positive difference in the life of a child?  Our school nutrition programs provide breakfasts, snacks and lunches in local Airdrie schools and schools within the food bank’s catchment area to ensure that no one goes hungry. School Program Volunteers support the Airdrie Food Banks mission and vision. The Breakfast Program consists of serving breakfast and supervising children from Kindergarten to grade 5 from 7:00 to 8:15am every school day morning. If applying please let us know which day(s) of the week you are available in the comment/note section. 

Warehouse Receivers
Warehouse Receivers assist Warehouse staff with unloading donations from donors vehicles, weighing donations and recording. Receivers move the donations to the proper storage areas and help organize food and pallets. May be required to operate warehouse equipment.  Must be available during office hours.  Schedule can be flexible.
