Freezer/Cooler Team Members
Come join our team and be a part of an exciting opportunity to assemble food hampers in accordance with Canada's Food Guide. Every hamper comes with specific instructions about the family size, dietary restrictions, and any food allergies that must be taken into consideration. The main responsibility of this role is to prepare meat and produce portions for each family’s hamper.
Delivery Drivers
Help fulfill the mission of the Airdrie Food Bank by delivering food hampers to community members in Airdrie. Volunteers will use their vehicles to deliver two to three hampers to clients.
We need two volunteers for this position.
Van and Truck Drivers
Do you have experience driving larger vehicles? If so, we could use your expertise! As a driver in this role, you would be supporting the Airdrie Food Bank's mission by picking up donations from different locations throughout Airdrie and the surrounding area, including grocery stores, bakeries, and other businesses. Additional training on the vehicles will be provided.
Volunteer hours can vary during business hours. Events + gardening projects can run evenings and weekends.
Be part of a dynamic team:
Front Desk - Under the direction of the Client Intake Manager, this role's primary responsibility is to provide support and food to clients utilizing the Food Pantry Program. Responsible for answering phones, assisting walk-in clients and stocking the food pantry.
Hampers - Building food hampers following Canada's Food Guide. Information is provided for each hamper providing details about the time of the hamper, family information and food restrictions/allergies.
Hamper Runner - Deliver pre-made hampers, in carts, to clients arriving at the food bank.
Hamper Delivery - Deliver pre-made hampers to families in Airdrie using your vehicle.
Transport Driver – Help feed those in need. Using the Airdrie Food Bank, truck drivers pick up donations at various locations in Airdrie and the surrounding area (e.g. grocery stores, bakeries and other businesses). Special License not required.
Driver – Using the Airdrie Food Bank van or your vehicle, you will be responsible for picking up donations at various stores in Airdrie.
Repackaging - Help feed those in need in our community. Volunteers are responsible for repackaging donated produce, bakery, tea, etc.
School Programs - Do you enjoy spending time with children and want to make a positive difference in a child's life? Our school nutrition programs provide breakfasts, snacks and lunches to Airdrie schools.
Warehouse Support - Your tasks will vary depending on the warehouse operations and the food donated. Duties may include; food rotation, sorting produce and other bulk food items, cardboard compacting, shelf stocking and warehouse clean up.
