Minor

Application form for minor volunteers. Please know that youth age sixteen (16) or older can volunteer on their own. Young adults ages eleven (11) through fifteen (15) may volunteer with an adult guardian. Children ages ten (10) and under are not permitted to volunteer due to safety concerns and liability reasons.

The Airdrie Food Bank recruits and trains volunteers for specific roles on an

as-needed basis to support our programs and services.

Special Events


Assist with fundraising events and tasks associated with special events.

Must be available evenings and weekends




Transport Drivers for 5 tonne Truck


Pick up food donations from various locations in Airdrie and surrounding area. Drivers will need to pass our safety inspection and be approved by Warehouse Coordinator. Must be available during office hours.




Qualifications for Volunteering


Age sixteen (16) or older.

Gardener


This volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who loves to get their hands dirty, has a passion for gardening that rubs off on others. Supporting the Kitchen Coordinator and the activities of the community garden, volunteers will maintain communal garden areas, including assistance for garden plot users. Volunteers will support staff as they nurture the garden plots. Assigned tasks may include planting, weeding, watering and harvesting. Our large garden plots require several hours per week to maintain which is divided between assigned volunteers.
